Einstein famously said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.”
Each election, we are given 2 choices that perpetuate the cycle of wasted money and insanity. Questions remain unanswered: Why is our homeless problem getting worse, and not better? Why is our wealth-gap getting worse?
And why is our debt problem and immigration crisis worsening and not improving? Why are we sicker and stupider as a nation? Why have we not made real progress on solving climate effects.
These problems are solvable … We choose not to solve them. We elect leaders based on popularity and anger and frustration and divisive rhetoric, rather than a candidate possessing the ability to lead and solve these and many more problems.
Once upon a time in civics classes, we learned that our government is comprised of 3 branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. These 3 branches have now become enmeshed as part of a 3 headed monster comprised of corporations and billionaires, media controlled by billionaires, and the 2-party political system.
The end of our free press:
Over the one generation we have seen the end of Media, once proudly, our free press. We have gone from Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow to Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones. We have seen Billionaires literally buy media outlets. Corporations are controlling Media companies by wielding their advertising dollars.
As with the downfall of our media, we watch our 2-party political system, also controlled by corporations of billionaires. Billionaires buy the media and they buy politicians and judges. Are they helping the average Joe?
The 2-party system:
Politicians have become beholden to their corporate donors. Perpetually seeking reelection, their priorities shift from the interests of their constituents to the will of their corporate masters.
Are members of Congress and Senators & Representatives the best in the land and are they actually working in service of the American people? Why does it appear that members of our government, overseeing laws of the land, openly getting wealthy from what appears to be insider trading?
During this election cycle the 2-party system has offered us two options:
1) A Democratic candidate who at best will keep the party going (economy and social systems running a little longer) without solving our crucial problems. Yes, the house is on fire, but have another drink.
2) A Republican candidate who is a convicted felon?
In short – our choices are more of the same. Take a moment and ask yourself why haven’t we solved the problems that have persisted for a generation and more importantly, what does your candidate plan to do to fix them?
The 3-headed monster:
Like a 3-headed monster, the combination of the broken media, the 2 party system & the corporations who control them will defend itself from any outside threats to the status quo. We see this with 3rd party candidates.
3rd party candidates, Cornel West, Rfk jr, Jill Stein and other have had their voices suppressed, their reputations smeared and defamed and they are aggressively blocked from participating in the Democratic process. Is it because they propose solutions that threaten the corporate puppet-masters and the political status-quo?
Below, are actual local news headlines indicate some of the underhandedness employed against 3rd party candidates during this election cycle:
“Democratic officials keep other competitors off North Carolina Ballot, Leaving Biden the Only Choice”
“Cornel West’s Justice For All Party says it will sue NC Board of Elections over ballot denial”
“Democrats lead Lawsuit to keep RFK Jr. off November ballot.”
“Nebraska Democratic Party seeks to block RFK Jr. from all ballots.”
“GA Democrats try to keep RFK Jr., others off Presidential Ballot.”
“Democrats seek to block RFK JR, third party contenders from the Georgia ballot”
“Nevada Democrats sue to block Green Party from 2024 ballot”
“Nebraska Democratic Party seeks to block RFK Jr. from fall ballot”
These headlines are a just sampling with many more telling us in print that one party, the DNC, will do all that it can to block opponent ballots. Is spending multi-millions or a billion dollars to block ballot access, censor & smear opponents, a good or ethical use of money? Is this Democracy at its best?
